    Donald MacLeod

I came in after ya'll had already started learning this tune, but I wonder what the purpose is? Sure, it's a hornpipe and sounds great if we can execute it well in a performance, but it's also a hornpipe and in my experience getting the whole band to a level where we can execute something like that (or a jig) in a performance has always been just out of reach. It's also not a well known tune (I've never heard it / of it before). Is this a tune the band as a whole is committed to learning and getting up to performance snuff?

I like it, but would be happy to hold off on it until we're consistent on everything else. If I had to choose between Atholl Highlanders and Donald to perfect first, I would choose Atholl, and was kind of liking it better without repeats actually.

I think Atholl is a good tune, somewhat recognizable, and achievable to play by the band.
