Welcome, drummers!  This is the home page for the Capitol City Highlanders Pipe Band's drum corps.  There are links above for an introduction to drumming, written by our drum instructor, Frank Ray, as well as links to other drum sites.  There's also a link to our rehearsals page - new students, prospective members or just plain spectators are always welcome!

The drum corps is made up of three sections:

Side (snare) drum - this is the highest voice in the corps.  CCH uses Premier HTS 200 snare drums with a custom rosewood finish.

Tenor drum - these are the midvoices of the drum corps.  CCH uses Premier 16" tenor drums, also with a custom finish.

Bass drum - the low (or ... bass!) voice of the corps.  CCH uses a Premier 28" pipe band bass drum, and yes, it has a custom finish as well.

CCH has openings in all three sections for 2005, so if you are an older drummer out of practice, a rock / marching band drummer, or even a pipe band drummer looking to play in the Austin area, come check us out!
